Messages, including lost and found, can be made from the Kodiak Chamber of Commerce booth. Please note: The Kodiak Chamber of Commerce works hard to ensure the schedule of events are accurate, but we are not responsible for changes to the schedule beyond our control. Booth Hours: Thurs 12pm-8pm, Friday-Sunday 10am-8pm, Monday 10am-5pm.

    From Store House to Story House Silent Auction
    Hosted by:Kodiak Historical Society & Baranov Museum
    Location: Baranov Museum, 101 E Marine Way

    Find treasures in troves at the Baranov Museum! A variety of items will be available for purchase at the silent auction from artwork to rare books to tech equipment, and more. Bidding will begin May 24th at 10am and close May 28th at 4pm. All proceeds will benefit the Permanent Exhibit Redesign & Facility Updgrade Project.     10am Crab Festival Grand Parade
    Sponsored by: Kodiak Chamber of Commerce and Kodiak Kiwanis Club
    The parade runs along Mill Bay Road between Powell and Bartel Street. Parking is limited so be sure to come early. To participate in the parade complete a participation form and remit to the Chamber by Friday May 4th. For more information contact chamber@kodiak.org

    10:15am Crab Festival Shrimp Parade (Line-up at 9:15am)
    Sponsored by: Kodiak Area Native Association
    Location: Line-up in the parking lot in front of Noodles, 1247 Mill Bay Rd

    Participants 10 and younger are invited to march in the Shrimp Parade! Lineup at 9:15 a.m. at the parking lot in front of Noodles. All entrants must have adult supervision before the parade and while walking the parade route. Certificates will be awarded for Hottest Wheels, Most Creative, and Most Spirited. Al participants will receive a goodie bag with toys, candy, and info on local schools and daycares! For more information contact chamber@kodiak.org.

    11:30pm-11:45 USCG Search and Rescue Demonstration
    Performed by: United States Coast Guard
    Location: Near Island Channel
    H65 Helicopter will conduct a Search and Rescue Demonstration in the Near Island Channel, with an MC talking through the demonstration. The H65 will be on static display on Oscars Dock from 9am- 2:30pm.

    1pm-2pm Norm Holm Memorial Survival Suit Race
    Sponsored by: Kodiak Fishermen's Wives & Associates and Grundéns
    Location: Boat Ramp near the Harbormaster's Office, 403 W Marine Way
    Teams that want to participate must sign up at the boat ramp by Harbormaster's office before 12:30 p.m. on the day of the event. Serious fun in this popular event! Entry fee is $40 per team. Those who place 1st, 2nd and 3rd will receive a plaque, hooded sweatshirt/sweatpants. First place winners get to hold the traveling trophy for the next year. All participants will receive a T-shirt.     4pm-5:30pm Working Waterfront Harbor Tour
    Hosted by: Kodiak Maritime Museum
    Location: Tour begins at Harborside Coffee, 210 Shelikof Street
    90 minute walking tour of Kodiak's working waterfront. Hear true stories of the sea and learn about the different kinds of fishing boats in Kodiak's harbor from an expereineced fisherman tour guide. Cost is $20 for adults, $10 for children under 12. We recommend no children younger than 10 years old.

    9am-3:30pm 8th Annual IDIDAROCK
    Sponsored by: City of Kodiak Parks & Recreation
    Location: Mouth of Pasagshak River

    41-mile road bike from Pasagshak to town, 9-mile trail and road run up and down Pillar Mountain, 1-mile lap swim at the Kodiak Community Pool. The ride begins at the mouth of the Pashagshak River promptly at 9am. The ride ends at the Harbormaster's Office on Marine Way. Join the Pillar Mountain Classic runners at the Harbormaster's Office at 12:30pm. You may start this portion early, on time, or late. If you begin early or late, please self-record your run time and give it to the race official or Corey at the Teen Center before 3pm. Finally swim 1 mile (35 laps, a lap is down and back) between 1pm-3:30pm at the city pool. Fins are allowed. Pool staff will provide timer. Participant or race support counts laps. The award ceremony is at the Teen Center at 4pm. Register at the Teen Center by 6pm on Saturday, May 26th. Cost is $30 and includes oficial bike and run splits, pool entry fee, Crab Fest T-Shirt, and a painted IDIDAROCK.     3pm-4pm Fishermen's Memorial Service
    Sponsored by: Kodiak Fishermen's Wives & Associates 
    Location: Fishermen's Memorial Site by the Harbormaster's Office, 403 W Marine Way
    This annual memorial service is to honor fishermen lost in Alaskan waters and lost to the Kodiak community. For more information call Emily at 907.486.5699

  • Monday - May 28th, 2018

    10am-4pm Poker Run for Swim Lessons
    Location: Gravel Pit on Pillar Mountain
    Mountain bike or hike down a Pillar Mountain trail collecting cards along the way. Meet at the Kodiak Island Brewery at 4pm to play the best hand collected. $20 donation goes to provide swim lessons to a child in need. Bikes register at 58 Degrees North, Hikers register at Orion's Sport Shop. Registration window May 7th - May 26th 5pm. Detailed instructions will be given at registration.
