According to a 2017 report released by the Alaska Housing Finance Corporation, there are currently 5,258 housing units in the Kodiak Island Borough. Of these, 4,560 are occupied, 108 are for sale or rent, and the remaining 629 are seasonal or otherwise vacant units.
